Herbert Spencer (1820-1903) is credited with describing the 5 fundamentals of science: time, force, action, space, and matter. List where they all show up in Genesis 1:1
Ge 1:1 In the beginning (TIME) God (FORCE) created (ACTION) the heavens
(SPACE) and the earth.(MATTER)
(NKJV)
Amazingly, all five fundamentals of science can be found in the opening
verse of the Bible. A majority of scientists still believe in evolution.
PHYSICS / ASTRONOMY
Job 38:19-20 How does one get to the dwelling place of light?
Job 38:19 "Where is the way to the dwelling of light? And darkness,
where is its place,
(NKJV)
Light is said to travel in a “way” by the Lord. Light was thought to have been transmitted instantaneously until Sir Isaac Newton suggested it traveled in a straight line in the 17th century. We know now that light is a form of radiant energy that travels in electromagnetic waves in a straight line at more than 186,000 miles / second (the speed of light). The word way is from the Hebrew word derek, which means course of life, mode of action, or journey.
Notice that darkness has a place. Physics recognizes darkness as the absence of light, which would also mean the absence of movement, which would give darkness a place.
Genesis 2:1 What condition does this state God’s creation is in?
Ge 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were
finished.
(NKJV)
This first law of thermodynamics agrees with this Biblical statement.
The first law of thermodynamics states that in nature, neither energy nor
matter can be created or destroyed. There is no creation going on today.
Isaiah 51:6, Hebrews 1:10-12 What is happening to the earth?
Isa 51:6 Lift up your eyes to the heavens, And look on the earth beneath.
For the heavens will vanish away like smoke, The earth will grow old like
a garment, And those who dwell in it will die in like manner; But My salvation
will be forever, And My righteousness will not be abolished.
(NKJV)
Heb 1:10 And: "You, LORD, in the beginning laid the foundation of the
earth, And the heavens are the work of Your hands.
11 They will perish, but You remain; And they will all grow old
like a garment;
12 Like a cloak You will fold them up, And they will be changed.
But You are the same, And Your years will not fail."
(NKJV)
The second law of thermodynamics also agrees with these Bible verses. Everything is running down, becoming less organized, energy is less available for use, being lost as heat as it becomes obsolete and cannot be converted into work again.
These laws of thermodynamics were founded in Europe in the 19th century
when their industrial revolution was in its boom. There were physicists
attempting to build perpetual motion machines but found it impossible.
Instead they figured out the laws of thermodynamics. These laws are now
fundamental laws of science.
Genesis 15:5, Jeremiah 33:22 How many stars are they able to count?
Ge 15:5 Then He brought him outside and said, "Look now toward heaven,
and count the stars if you are able to number them." And He said to him,
"So shall your descendants be."
(NKJV)
Jer 33:22 'As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, nor the sand of
the sea measured, so will I multiply the descendants of David My servant
and the Levites who minister to Me.'"
(NKJV)
The answer is there are too many to count. In 150 B.C. astronomer Hipparchus
counted 1,026 stars, in 150 A.D. Ptolemy counted and documented 1,056.
In 1575 Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe suggested there were 777. In 1600
German astronomer Johannes Kelper said there were 1005. Recently Carl Sagan
suggested there were 25 sextillion stars that are documented. 25,000,000,000,000,000,000,000.
The number of stars cannot be numbered and will keep increasing as our
technology for being able to “see” them, with satellite telescopes and
other advances in science.
ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE
Ecclesiastes 1:7 How is this so?
Ec 1:7 All the rivers run into the sea, Yet the sea is not full; To
the place from which the rivers come, There they return again.
(NKJV)
The Mississippi River dumps about 6,000,000 gallons of water into the Gulf of Mexico every second. Where does it go?
Am 9:6 He who builds His layers in the sky, And has founded His strata
in the earth; Who calls for the waters of the sea, And pours them out on
the face of the earth-The LORD is His name.
(NKJV)
The hydrologic cycle wasn’t understood until the 16th century and wasn’t fully accepted by science until the 17th century. This is the cycle where water evaporates into the air, forms clouds and falls as rain or snow.
BIOLOGY / MEDICINE
Genesis 17:12 What day were the Hebrew males to be circumcised?
Ge 17:12 "He who is eight days old among you shall be circumcised,
every male child in your generations, he who is born in your house or bought
with money from any foreigner who is not your descendant.
(NKJV)
On the eighth day, Why. Vitamin K is responsible for production of prothrombin in the liver. This is a critical element in the process of blood clotting. It just so happens that vitamin k is produced in the intestine of a newborn between the 5th and 7th day of their life. This causes a spike in the level of prothrombin to over 100% of the normal amount and it is at its highest level of the child’s life. This will help prevent hemorrhaging during circumcision of males. How would Abraham or Moses have known of this critical timing to help in preventing a fatal hemorrhage in these male children? This was discovered in 1935 and today newborns are given a vitamin K shot at birth to produce blood-clotting agent almost immediately. This correlates the best time, medically speaking; to do what God commanded the Jews.
Leviticus 11:7 What type of animal was forbidden to be eaten by the
Jews.
Le 11:7 'and the swine, though it divides the hoof, having cloven hooves,
yet does not chew the cud, is unclean to you.
(NKJV)
Pigs are the most prone animals to parasitic infection. They are scavengers
and eat almost anything. Pigs often contain parasitic bacteria called trichina
spirals, which causes a painful and sometimes fatal disease even today
called trichinosis. How could Moses have known the medical risks in eating
this animal? The Moses wrote these divinely inspired words that science
found out later were medically correct.
Leviticus 17:11-14 What is told about the blood?
Le 17:11 'For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given
it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the
blood that makes atonement for the soul.'
12 "Therefore I said to the children of Israel, 'No one among
you shall eat blood, nor shall any stranger who dwells among you eat blood.'
13 "Whatever man of the children of Israel, or of the strangers
who dwell among you, who hunts and catches any animal or bird that may
be eaten, he shall pour out its blood and cover it with dust;
14 "for it is the life of all flesh. Its blood sustains its life.
Therefore I said to the children of Israel, 'You shall not eat the blood
of any flesh, for the life of all flesh is its blood. Whoever eats it shall
be cut off.'
(NKJV)
The Bible is again supported by what medicine later found to be true.
There are about 270,000,000 molecules of hemoglobin in each red blood cell
to transfer oxygen, this does so by attaching oxygen to an iron atom within
the cell, it then gets delivered to the proper place in the body for energy
combustion. Today medically speaking when someone has low iron they are
called anemic, and they lack energy due to loss of efficiency of the blood.
George Washington died from excessive blood letting just over 200 years
ago.
Leviticus 17:15 What has happened to these animals that they should
not be eaten?
Le 17:15 "And every person who eats what died naturally or what was
torn by beasts, whether he is a native of your own country or a stranger,
he shall both wash his clothes and bathe in water, and be unclean until
evening. Then he shall be clean.
(NKJV)
Eating what has naturally died is a very dangerous thing, The USDA
would not allow someone to take an animal to have it prepared for human
consumption. This is a very advanced public health regulation. Many less
developed countries do not practice this and it is responsible for the
spread of diseases like rabies, anthrax, and others. Once again the Bible
is supported by what science has found later. Moses wrote these things
thousands of years before the mechanisms of understanding communicable
disease were known. Most were not developed until the 19th century.
Many other places the Bible are supported by what science. The Bible speaks truths about many things that weren’t even thought of by man until thousands of years later.
If an evolutionist truly and honestly looks at these evidences, and
sees that science confirms what the Bible says I have difficulty understanding
why they would believe their idea of evolution.
The objective in this lesson is to again look at evidences and show that evolution contradicts scientific principles. Much of what we will look at would be called evolution common knowledge and would be taught in middle and high school classes.
There is evidence for a designer in our universe, look at the verses in Genesis 1: 11,12,21,24. This shows Gods design for all living things. Then look at its harmony with the science of Genetics, a sub-discipline in the field of Biology.
Genetics is one of the great sciences of the 20th century; methods and processes were not available to study it until the early 1930’s. Genetics is a part of Biology that became known AFTER Darwin’s Theory of Evolution was published in his book in 1859. Unfortunately The Origin of Species will go down in history as one of the most influential books ever written.
In a previous lesson we looked at the scientific method, this was how scientists look at things to determine how something works. This process starts with some assumptions and ideas that should be known based on facts.
Look at some of the assumptions evolution clearly aligns itself with. These assumptions are easily seen and are not a stretch of anyone’s imagination.
1. Evolution assumes that life began before intelligence existed in the universe. Even if the first living organism had some form of intelligence as soon as it was alive, I think we all could agree, (scientist or not), that whatever non-living chemicals the evolutionists first life form accidentally evolved from had no intelligence. All things on earth are made up of chemical elements, these are non-living chemicals and for evolution to take place these elements would have had to form into a living cell.
Today, even in the finest laboratories in the world, a living cell cannot
be created. We even know the chemical elements needed to create a cell,
they can be put together in the proper proportions and the scientist still
cannot create life. Even if one day someone does create a living cell in
a laboratory, that will prove the chemical elements needed outside help
from superior intelligence, an outside force, and a designer.
The earth came into being without any help from intelligence,
design or outside power.
Sir Isaac Newton, the British scientist, once had a skillful
mechanic make him a miniature replica of our solar system. Balls represented
the planets and they were geared together by cogs and belts so they would
move in harmony when cranked. Later, he was visited by a scientist friend
who did not believe in God. The scientist saw the mechanism on the table,
recognized what it was, stepped up to it and slowly turned the crank. With
admiration he watched the heavenly bodies all move in their relative speed
in their orbits.
“My what an exquisite thing this is!” he exclaimed. “Who made
it?” “Nobody” Newton answered without looking up from a book he was reading.
“Evidently you did not understand my question.”, said the infidel.
‘ I asked who made this?” Newton looked up and solemnly assured him that
nobody made it, but it just happened.
Then the infidel replied with some heat, “You must think I’m
a fool! Of course somebody made it, and he is a genius, and I’d like to
know who he is.”
Newton laid his book aside, stood up, and laid hid hand on his
shoulder, “This thing,” he said, “is but a puny imitation of a much grander
system whose laws you know, and I am not able to convince you that this
mere toy is without a designer and maker; yet you profess to believe that
the great original from which the design is taken has come into being without
a designer or maker! Now tell me by what sort of reasoning do you reach
such a conclusion?” (See The Minnesota Technology. October 1957).
A single cell is more advanced than the most advanced computer that can be built today. If one of those computer geniuses could invent a self-programming computer of endless complexity that was one thousandth of an inch long. Who would believe it came into existence by itself?
This first assumption goes against one of the most basic laws of biology. Biogenesis, bio (Greek for life) and genesis (Greek for birth, or creation). This law states that living organisms can only come from living organisms, and biologists agree that the parent organism and its offspring (if viable) are the same kind.
2. Now the second assumption is that life produced a different kind and did this millions of times. This assumption is the backbone of their theory. I would like to say a few things about corn. If you plant a grain of corn (corn seed) you will get corn. Now take a seed from this newly grown corn, plant it and corn will grow again. Do this 1000 times, will you still get corn? Yes, after 100, or 1000, or 100,000 generations you will still have corn. Not wheat or any other kind of plant.
Ge 1:11 Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that
yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind,
whose seed is in itself, on the earth"; and it was so.
12 And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed
according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in
itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
(NKJV)
Genesis 1: 11-12 also say the same thing about plants, and that they yield seed after their own kind. This is contrary to what evolution teaches and again the Bible is supported by what scientists later find to be true.
3. Evolution also assumes that the best. / most favorable survive.
When someone plants a garden does anyone plant rows of wild grass seed,
or a few weeds in between the tomatoes, corn and beans? If this were true,
those tomatoes, corn, and beans would certainly choke out those less than
favorable weeds. One wouldn’t have to worry about those weeds if this were
true. Good farming whether animals or plants, takes intelligent planning
and hard work. The best and most favorable do not always survive.
Ge 3:17 Then to Adam He said, "Because you have heeded the voice of
your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying,
'You shall not eat of it': "Cursed is the ground for your sake; In toil
you shall eat of it All the days of your life.
18 Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you, And
you shall eat the herb of the field.
19 In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread Till you return
to the ground, For out of it you were taken; For dust you are, And to dust
you shall return."
(NKJV)
Now that we’ve seen these assumptions don’t make much sense. Let’s take a closer look at kinds.
Almost any 9th grade Biology student will know that there are basic plant and animal groupings. These plants and animal are generally grouped by their definitive characteristics and there are no links between these groupings. Examples of these are Mammals, Reptiles, Amphibians, and Aves, in animals and deciduous trees and evergreen trees in plants.
When one looks at these groupings we need to understand that evolutionists will call your attention to these divisions and say that id proof of evolution. Many examples they will show you the special theory of evolution, which describes selective breeding and adaptation within a kind. The evolutionist will then explain with enough time is involved this proves the general organic theory of evolution.
Development is often mistaken for evolution, sons who are taller than their fathers are not humans evolving. Even if after several generations a human would get to be 10 feet tall, they are still human.
Hybridization is often mistaken for evolution, When 2 different species are crossed in order to combine the good qualities of both; the offspring is often stronger than the parents. The hybrid will also many times be sterile, and cannot reproduce itself. An example of this is when one breeds a horse with a donkey; the offspring is a mule. A mule is sterile because it has reached the limits of a kind.
Each kind has great variety in sizes, shapes, colors, and textures.
Examples: Cat family: lions, tigers, leopards, bobcats, domestic
house cats.
Examples: Dog family: domestic dogs, foxes, wolves, coyotes.
There is great variety within a kind, kinds never mix, they never did,
nor do they now. There are limits to how much mixing can be done within
a kind. Eventually the limits of a kind will be reached by the limit of
sterility. This is what keeps kinds separate now, and always has.
Adaptation is often mistaken for evolution. Plants and animals have within themselves a greater or lesser possibility of adaptation. Examples of animals that are very adaptive are, polar bears adapt to different climates (these arctic animals are in zoos throughout the United States). City deer in St. Louis (The homes have pushed the deer’s natural range back from the city for a short time, but now the deer have adapted to the different surroundings and are considered a nuisance to many home owners). Squirrels that run power lines instead of crossing streets in dangerous traffic. Adaptation shows no change in the kind of animal, polar bears are still polar bears, deer are still deer, and squirrels are still squirrels.
Feeding habits are often mistaken for evolution. Just as the woodpecker
has two toes that point backward that allow it to hold firmly to a tree,
specialized tail feathers, a long stout beak, which chisels holes into
tree bark and a very long tongue that allows it to eat grubs that live
in a trees bark. Evolutionists say these adaptations have arisen during
the evolution of the woodpecker.
How did the woodpecker survive before it got those special toes
and tongue?
If new conditions made different equipment necessary, how did shorter
beaked birds survive? Is a woodpecker still a bird?
If different feeding habits mean evolution then why did the horse and
cow come about? They both eat the same grass side by side in the same pasture.
Why did one evolve upper teeth and one didn’t. They both survive equally
well.
So if the evolutionists assumptions don’t add up, and his “proofs”
of evolution don’t allow hybrid kinds or transitional forms reproduce,
if the feeding habits example within birds isn’t always the case. How will
the evolutionist explain how this mechanism of change works?
Evolutionists will tell you that small mutations caused the changes needed for a slow transition from one life form to another. I personally survived 4 years of college professors teaching this. I would like to look at how these mutations occur.
Mutations occur at the cellular level in the DNA. DNA is the substance that makes all living things reproduce after their own kind. Deoxyribo Nucleic Acid is a tape like coil made up of sugar, phosphate and nitrogen compounds. It is the cellular blueprint that tells every structure of every plant or animal to grow, have a heartbeat, to be a heart, to change the color of their leaves, produce fruit, and carry out all functions of life. DNA also serves as a link between generations.
(The evolutionist says this shows proof of evolution, and links to it, I say it shows economy of design as discussed in an earlier lesson.)
This is where we will begin our study about genetics, which wasn’t around when Darwin came up with his theory of evolution. The genetic process is fundamental to the comprehension of life itself. Knowing how the genetic process works also helps understand other disciplines in biology. It directly overlaps with molecular biology, cell biology, physiology, ecology, and even claims to show the mechanism of evolution.
Genetics is a quickly growing scientific discipline, some say the knowledge in science doubles every ten years, and knowledge in genetics doubles every two. In 1866 Gregor Mendel published the results of a series of experiments that would lay the foundation for the discipline of genetics. It wasn’t until 1902 when other scientists discovered Mendel’s results and found a whole new discipline within the field of biological science called genetics.
The major benefits to society have been in medicine and agriculture. In both cases the use of selective breeding and hybridization techniques has had the most significant impact. (Special theory of evolution, not general organic theory of evolution). Genetics has allowed increased yield in crops, increased resistance to natural predators, pests, and insects. It has allowed foods to have increased protein and other nutrients, has developed superior breeds of animals (Chickens that produce more and higher quality eggs).
Genetics has allowed growth in knowledge in immunology, which have made blood transfusions and transplant operations not only possible, but also somewhat common.
I really want to look at the source of genetic variations that evolutionists
rely on. There are only two: 1. Gene mutations result from a change
in the information in DNA.
2. Chromosomal Aberrations which include duplication, deletion,
or rearrangement of
chromosome segments.
Remember that one typically receives ½ of their chromosomes
(genes) from their mother and ½ from their father. These mutations
that allow for evolution would have to survive the recombination that occurs
when sexual reproduction takes place.
The first source of genetic variation I would like to examine is called chromosomal aberrations. This is also known as ploidy, These are both fancy words for having either too many or not enough chromosomes.
I will look at these aberrations in humans because humans with the most genes should be, more able to tolerate them due to their high number of chromosomes and are more commonly named because of medical science. These are all terrible things to speak about.
Kleinfelter Syndrome results in a sterile male, cannot pass on genes.
Turner’s Syndrome results in a sterile female, cannot pass on genes.
Chri-du-chat Syndrome has infants that exhibit multiple anatomic malformities and are severely mentally retarded.
Down Syndrome is the only human autosomal trisomy in which significant numbers of individuals survive more than a year past birth.
Patau Syndrome children have abnormal developments as early as 5 to 6 weeks after conception. The mean survival of these infants is less than 6 months.
Edwards Syndrome the average survival of these infants is under 4 months.
The reduced viability of these individuals with recognized monosomic or trisomic conditions would lead me to believe that many other conditions like this may arise but the fetuses do not survive to term. “ Approximately 90 percent of all chromosomal anomalies are terminated prior to birth” (Concepts of Genetics, 1986).
The next mechanism of change evolutionists rely on is gene mutation. One of the most noted and common types of gene mutation we see today is known as an onco-gene. These are hereditary defects that increases one’s potential to have such diseases as cancer, chronic mycelocytic leukemia, acute leukemia, Burkitts lymphoma, and many other forms of cancer. Other types of gene mutations cause sickle cell anemia, Phenylketonuria, and other diseases.
Remember that evolutionists will tell you this is the mechanism of evolution.
They cause the slow transition of one form to another. Nature will select
the good mutations over the bad ones.
1. Where are the good ones? 2. What would cause the survival rate of
these to be higher than those without mutations?
I have a beagle dog that had puppies last spring. I had two pups that died and seven live. Does that mean the ones that survived evolved? No, it only means some survived and some didn’t. The ones that lived are still dogs.
Another way genetic mutations can occur is by radiation. If mutations lead to evolution and it is known that radiation causes mutations. Why don’t scientists run to nuclear reactor accidents to see evolution occur?
I suggest to you that almost all (99+%) of mutations are harmful or have no effect at best. If an organism did have a “good” mutation then it was followed by many bad mutations “nature” would not follow natural selection and not select this organism.
Genetics, which Darwin knew nothing about shows us only 4 ways to cause
genetic variation.
1. Recombination- another name for sexual reproduction.
2. Hybridization- which reaches the limit of kinds with sterility.
3. Chromosomal aberrations- Ploidy- which are terribly harmful.
4. Gene mutations- which over 99% are harmful and at best only have
50% chance of being passed on from generation to generation.
